Brent Farr started Farr West Engineering from his home office in Reno, Nevada in 2001. Since then Brent has maintained a passion for providing communities with engineering and planning projects and dedication to maintaining Farr West's reputation for superior client service and exceptional results. Brent has built a reputation among his clients and the engineering community as a skilled leader, facilitator, and public speaker. The focus of his career has been providing services to public works departments and state and local government entities, primarily working with public water and wastewater utilities. Staying true to the core values of character, stewardship, and excellence has resulted in long-standing relationships with satisfied clients.
Brent earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University and his master's degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a Licensed Professional Civil Engineer and Water Rights Surveyor in Nevada, as well as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Public Works Association, and the American Water Works Association. Away from the office Brent enjoys spending time with his wife and their three children. He can regularly be found in a competitive game of tennis or fishing in the back country. Brent grew up in Alaska and he travels there often to visit his parents and enjoy outdoor adventures.
Greg Lyman provides consulting services to public and private clients in water and wastewater engineering, land development, transportation engineering, and construction management. Greg leads Farr West’s electrical engineering and survey departments, and a large civil design team. He enjoys taking projects from the planning phase through successful construction and has a passion for working on complex projects with a great team.
Greg's extensive water and wastewater experience is a result of managing multiple large and complex projects involving potable water and sewer treatment, conveyance, and compliance. Greg's experience also includes transportation engineering services such as street design, pavement management, geotechnical investigations, surveying, airport engineering, and traffic engineering. Greg is proficient with technical specifications and bid document preparation, public bidding, site inspection and reporting, material testing, scheduling, and payment.
Greg earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Nevada. Much of his free time is spent with his wife and four busy children. He also enjoys volunteering with his church and working with the horses and cows on his family's ranch in the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
Lucas Tipton is the Utility Planning Manager at Farr West, and has extensive diverse civil design and construction management experience with an emphasis in planning for water and sewer utilities. He oversees the water resources, water rights, and GIS departments at Farr West. Through collaborative leadership, Lucas manages and develops engineering, planning, and design to provide California and Nevada utilities with sophisticated facility and utility services.
Lucas oversees our modeling engineers and was instrumental in the development of this niche at Farr West. The team uses state-of-the-art modeling software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Bentley WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS, and Innovyze InfoWater and InfoSwmm.
Lucas earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno and is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Nevada and California. As an avid fly fisherman, skier, and outdoorsman, Lucas enjoys exploring the beauty of northern Nevada and surrounding areas with his wife, their three children, and their goldendoodle.
Matt Van Dyne is a Principal Engineer at Farr West. Matt oversees a large group of engineers and construction inspectors who provide civil engineering design and construction management for water, wastewater, in-situ rehabilitation, transportation, condition and risk assessments, and construction management. Matt is a licensed Civil Engineer in both Nevada and California performing specialty engineering work in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
Matt’s tenure in overseeing large public and private projects has allowed him to develop successful methods for completing critical infrastructure projects. He led the single largest USDA-RD pipeline project in Nevada to replace over 90,000 lineal feet of water and over 60,000 linear feet of sewer, along with significant improvements to critical facilities and SCADA upgrades, for the City of Yerington. Matt enjoys teaching new professionals and extends opportunities and challenges to allow for the growth of individuals while increasing the company’s capacity. Matt oversees Farr West’s internal Young Professional Forum, which provides monthly training to developing engineers.
Matt earned his bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and serves as the local outreach chair. Matt enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three daughters. Matt grew up in Reno and enjoys the eastern Sierra recreational opportunities.
Damon oversees the planning, design, and construction administration of civil and environmental engineering projects at Farr West. His experience includes managing teams of engineers, geologists, archaeologists, environmental scientists, and planners with small to large multi-million dollar utility improvement projects. His engineering experience also includes tribal development projects which required working with federal, state, and local agencies. His style of honest, open communication allows him to create collaborative partnerships with the team, permitting agencies, the contractor, and most importantly the client.
Damon earned his bachelor's and master's degrees in Civil Engineering from the University of Idaho. He is a licensed Professional Civil Engineer in Nevada, Washington, and Idaho, and is a long standing member of the American Water Works Association, American Public Works Association, and Water Environment Federation.
Away from the office, Damon enjoys spending time with his wife and two boys. He and his family train Labrador puppies as special needs companion dogs. His other hobbies include outdoor activities, such as skiing, golf, backpacking, and fishing, and traveling.
David Pulley is a Principal Engineer with a broad engineering background, a strong work ethic, and valuable management skills. David is our lead engineer for the mining industry, working from our Elko office. He has engineered site and utility infrastructure projects for private and public sector clients including water process, packaged water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, water distribution and wastewater collection systems, reuse water systems, hydrology, hydraulics, drainage studies, and drainage infrastructure. He designs subdivisions, mine drainage and water systems, commercial and industrial sites, mass grading plans and streets and roundabouts. David has performed various mine water process studies, potable water system studies, sanitary sewer collection system reports, preliminary design/engineering reports, detention pond analysis, and floodplain analysis and prepared design requirement guidelines. David is experienced with contract, bid, specification documents and construction management.
David enjoys challenging work and finding solutions to problems. He is a detail-oriented engineer, ensuring a quality design that meets regulations to obtain permits and meet client needs at bid. He can aid clients in procurement, contractor selection and provide construction management. In his time away from the office, David enjoys time with his his wife and six children. David also enjoys sneaking away for fly fishing with Brent during his visits to the Elko office.
Coralee is a fourth generation native Nevadan and has spent most of her career as a small business owner in rural areas of Nevada. Coralee brings experience in finance and government regulations/impacts to Farr West. She also assists with the management and implementation of the company’s project and finance management software and is responsible for all corporate aspects of finance, payroll and human resources. She oversees the office administration of the Elko office, as well as providing support and guidance to the Reno office.
Coralee has an associate's degree in Nursing and earned her bachelor of science degree in Biology from the University of Nevada, Reno. She has held various offices within the Elko community and served as a board member with the Northeastern Nevada Historical Society, Elko Navy League, Western Folklife Center, Elko Chamber of Commerce, and the California Trails Interpretive Center. She is an avid researcher, and with her husband enjoys combining travel with excursions that pursue history and genealogy.
Lisa is responsible for maintaining streamlined office administration and all aspects of payroll, finance, and human resources. Lisa earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting with an emphasis in fraud examination and forensic accounting from Southern New Hampshire University, and has an associate degree in general studies from Truckee Meadows Community College.
Lisa is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Lisa enjoys camping, hiking, and traveling with her husband and two sons.
